Latin America: Economic Results at a Glance

Image result for Oil

The movement of the regional economy is a direct reflex of its core business: oil and other primary assets: A loss of 7 % in trade ($ US 2.54 Trillion ) which turns a plunge in profits of US$ 82 Billion.

The three gorilla businesses are energy giants PDVSA (Venezuela), Petrobras (Brazil) and Pemex (Mexico). The rest of the countries in the sector (YPF in Argentina, Ecopetrol in Colombia) follow the same line of problems, all comimng from the world movement in prices.

For more than 50 years Latin America has promised to change the way of the economic development without too much results. Primary products prices go up, economy thrives. When prices go down (to complete the cycle) the economy plunges.
