(Miami, FL -
Aug. 22, 2013) - The Beacon Council has assisted ABACO International, a
Madrid-based commercial insurance loss adjusters company, in
locating in Miami-Dade County and adding 10 direct jobs and $1 million
in capital investment within three years.
ABACO
International specializes in insurance and reinsurance loss cases
related to activities in a variety of fields including property,
construction, marine, cargo, aviation and energy.
The Miami office is the first U.S. location for the company.
"I'm
pleased to welcome ABACO to our community, along with the new jobs and
investment that they will bring," said Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A.
Gimenez. "ABACO's decision to invest in Miami is a clear
indication of their business savvy, and it's just the latest
affirmation of our standing as the ideal place for international
companies - from Spain and points beyond - to enter both the U.S. and
Latin American markets."
ABACO also chose
to locate in Miami because many of the reinsurance firms are located in
the same area. "Within about a mile on Brickell Avenue, you are
going to find most of the key insurance and reinsurance companies and
brokers," said Aurelio Gonzalez, U.S. Manager and Senior Loss
Adjuster. "And many others are located in the county."
The Beacon
Council assisted the company with research and marketing analysis,
business contacts and referrals, and general community information.
Enterprise Florida referred the company to The Beacon Council during
the mission to Madrid last year.
"Spain continues
to be a top market for economic development," said The Beacon
Council Interim President Robin Reiter. "We welcome the addition
of ABACO to the Brickell neighborhood."
