El Departamento de Seguridad en Carreteras y Vehículos Motorizados (DHSMV) extiende un aviso a sus clientes sobre sitios Web engañosos que guían a sus usuarios a pagar cargos innecesarios por tener acceso a nuestros servicios electrónicos al motorista. Estos sitios Web, con una imagen de oficialidad, requieren a sus clientes pagar un cargo por proveer su asistencia.  DHSMV no requiere ningún cargo adicional por la conexión a sus sitios Web – www.GoRenew.com o www.flhsmv.gov y otros.  El Departamento anuncia los cargos vigentes en www.flhsmv.gov.  

De la forma que estos sitios operan es muy simple: Los dueños o creadores de estos sitios Web engañosos le pagan un honorario a los dueños de las compañías de búsqueda Web para asegurarse que sus sitios estén al principio de la lista cuando los usuarios buscan información sobre los servicios electrónicos ofrecidos por DHSMV en www.GoRenew.com.  Cuando los usuarios entran en estos sitios engañosos, ellos piden el nombre del cliente, su información general y un número de tarjeta de crédito para cobrarle al cliente por conectarlos a la página Web gratuita de DHSMV.

Ofrece la Florida Reportes de Accidentes en Internet: DHSMV ha establecido un nuevo servicio que proporciona fácil acceso a reportes de accidentes.  Al visitar BuyCrash.com, las partes involucradas en dichos accidentes pueden comprar y recibir electrónicamente un copia del reporte, ahorrándose así tiempo, combustible y la inconveniencia de trasladarse a una estación policial local y hacer una fila para obtener una copia del reporte. 

¿Usted TXT?: Los mensajes de texto electrónicos (Texting) te pueden hacer reír (LOL) y son una buena forma de comunicarse con amigos y la familia.  Pero texting no es algo gracioso mientras se conduce un vehiculo.  La posibilidad de una tragedia que afectará la vida es muy real y debe de hacer a las personas pensar dos veces antes de utilizar un teléfono celular para mandar un mensaje de texto mientras conducen un vehículo.  De acuerdo a un estudio efectuado por el Instituto de Transporte de Virginia Tech, conductores tienen 23 veces más chance de verse involucrado en un choque de tránsito cuando mandan un mensaje de texto y están conduciendo un vehículo. 

El sitio Web de nuestro Departamento “Take the Wheel” tiene una variedad de mensajes de servicio públicos y videos en www.takethewheel.net que están diseñados para los adolescentes que informan sobre el conducir y los mensajes de texto.  Le recomendamos que compartan la información disponible en Take the Wheel con sus familiares y amigos, especialmente con los adolescentes.
