Important Info for ID and Driver Licenses

Due to the high incidence of passport fraud using Puerto Rico birth certificates, the government of Puerto Rico is implementing a law effective July 1, 2010, that will invalidate all Puerto Rico birth certificates issued before that date. Until June 30, 2010, all Puerto Rico birth certificates will remain valid. On July 1, 2010, Puerto Rico will begin issuing new birth certificates which will incorporate new technology to limit forgery.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and the Division of Driver Licenses UPDATE for May 2010

Florida is now issuing REAL ID compliant driver licenses and identifications. In order to inform the public about the requirements now in place, we need your help in fully informing all customers to help everyone not make a second trip to one of our offices.

We urge everyone to help us get the word to all Floridians by referring them to the educational initiative Gather Go Get at www.GatherGoGet.com. This is the best source to get personalized information on what documents to bring when renewing or replacing a driver license or identification card at one of our offices.

We appreciate any help you can give us in making the information attached to organizations and individuals throughout the state. This will go a long way in assist us increase the flow of communications with the community and customers we serve.
